Hard vs Soft Water

Hard vs Soft Water

Hard & Soft Water Areas

The water which enters our homes varies depending on where you are in the country.

You may have noticed a considerable difference in the texture and feel of the water, particularly if you have visited naturally soft water areas such as Scotland, Wales, Devon and Cornwall.

Most noticeably you will feel/see a greater lather achieved from soaps & shower gels; however, it’s the lather from shampoo which highlights the biggest difference. Not only does soft water feel softer to the touch, but it can actually leave your hair and skin in a better condition too.

This difference is down to the existence (or not) of minerals in the water. Hard water contains calcium and magnesium which are picked up and absorbed as the water filters through rocks and across the ground before entering our water system.

The East Anglia Region

The East Anglia region is classed as a very hard water area... (Some areas even fall in the category of Aggressively Hard).

This is due to the geology deep underground. To find out more about hard and soft water and our water softeners, use the links below.

Alternatively, call our showrooms and speak to our friendly office team for more information or to book an in home survey.
